We all know how important breakfast is, and yet so many of us are still skipping it every day.

always a bad idea and will leave you feeling flat and out of energy before long.

But sometimes it can be hard to work out exactly what to have in the morning, especially before a

yoga practice. You need something that will give you enough energy to put on your best

performance, but at the same time won’t weigh you down and make you feel bloated.

This recipe for green oatmeal is the perfect solution for all your breakfast woes. Oatmeal is a light,

easy to digest food that will give you the energy to get through your practise without making you

feel unwell. Added to that, a ‘green’ oatmeal is packed with vitamins and minerals that will not only

boost your energy, but also provide you with the goodness that you need for a healthy lifestyle.

To make it even better, this green oatmeal is made the night before and then left in the fridge

overnight. This way, there’s no need to rush about or stress in the morning as you’ve already got the

perfect breakfast prepared.

So why not give it a go and follow the recipe below:

You will need:

  •  70g kale or spinach
  •  250ml milk (you can use dairy or a plant-based milk)
  •  1 banana
  •  A dribble of honey
  •  50g oats
  •  Topping of your choice (ie. Berries, nuts, seeds ect.)

Method:

1. Put the kale/spinach, milk, banana and honey in a blender and blend until smooth.

2. In a bowl, mix together the smoothie and the oats.

3. Cover the mix and leave in the fridge over night

4. In the morning, sprinkle with almonds and enjoy!
